KVM.net Upgrade Procedure
Save the KVM.net package file on the client system. Run the downloaded file to unpack its contents to a temporary folder.
To update the firmware (See Upgrade procedure of KVM.net System as well):
- Using WinSCP.exe software, upload files "kvm.net.4.0.2.5.zip" and "upgrade.sh" to /misc folder in KVM.net Manager.
- On the KVM.net console or by using PuTTY.exe software, login to the KVM.net Manager Linux shell with root permissions (default password for root account is "access") and create a backup of the existing database, refer to the document IPA3-2.pdf KVM.net Manager Database Backup and Restore for more information.
- Change permissions of the "upgrade.sh" file by running "chmod a+x upgrade.sh" command in /misc folder.
- Upgrade the KVM.net Manager by running "./upgrade.sh kvm.net.4.0.2.5.zip" command. KVM.net Manager will reboot automatically after the upgrade.
- After KVM.net Manager will restart, login to its web interface and upload the updated firmware file for client and devices on the upgrade page of the KVM.net. KVM.net Manager will start upgrading devices at 5 at a time rate. Ensure that all users are logged out from the system and don’t connect to targets/servers during the firmware upgrade of the devices.
- Upload updated SDF (Switch Definition File) on the KVM.net KVM Switches page if needed.
- Upgrade of KVM.net Replication (Slave) unit is performed in the same way as upgrading KVM.net Master unit, except creating the database backup. There is no need to create database backup for KVM.net Replication unit.
- Perform the LDAP schema update which is explained in IPA26-1.pdf document

IP Devices Upgrade Procedure
To upgrade the firmware version of all connected IP devices from the KVM.net system:
- Run the downloaded file. It will create a folder on the client computer with upgrade file.
- Login to the KVM.net Manager Web interface with administrator rights.
- From the Settings menu, click Upload system upgrade.
- Press Browse and locate the upgrade file (In ZIP format only!).
- Press Start Upgrade button. KVM.net loads the firmware and initiates an upgrade of the devices.
The firmware uploads to 5 IP devices at a time – IP device status changes to Uploading and then to Rebooting as the firmware finishes upgrading. The uploaded firmware is stored in the KVM.net Manager. Every new IP device connected to the system is automatically upgraded to this firmware.
