Newly manufactured DS Vision units revision 2.0 and new products in the DS Vision line as Broadcaster 16 Port, Line Splitter and Receiver Dual Cascade Long have improved version of FPGA (DS Vision Core FPGA Firmware). This FPGA version V01.00 has improved internal communication between DS Vision units and improved quality of the audio signal. FPGA version V01.00 is not compatible with original version of FPGA V00.00. All units with FPGA version V00.00 should be upgraded to the latest version of FPGA to preserve the communication compatibility to the units with FPGA version V01.00. DSV2-1 Firmware and FPGA upgrade procedure for DS Vision System document explains the firmware and FPGA upgrade procedure in order to preserve the DS Vision system upgradability.

There are multiple hardware revisions of DS Vision 3000 Line Splitter Long units, each with revision specific firmware. To identify the hardware revision of the DS Vision 3000 Line Splitter Long, run the DS Vision 3000 Service Utility software, select the Line Splitter Long and check its Hardware Revision on the Service Tab. Note the Hardware ID of the Line Splitter Long unit and download the device firmware with corresponding Hardware ID.
